THE HAWLER: forerunner of NEMONYMOUS NIGHT

Please excuse stumblings in my reading-process; the novel’s plot and/or text entails such stumblings.

This is a raw reading aloud. I’ve not re-read it since 2005. If there is surprise in my reading voice, that’s because I am surprised. I think this is the authentic way to read it aloud, even if it does result in a few stumbles as I go through.

  2. This is such a fantastic resource. Thanks, Des!
Your texts are so mult-leveled that I find it nice to listen and “read along in my book” (like as a child learning to read—now I’m learning to read DF Lewis!) your voice is soothing and a wonderful guide to better go crazy trying to make sense of the utter weirdness–I’m listening to Weirdtongue now (the note was great and not a footnote in the text, I noted). I’m going to listen to the next track a little later, when I take a break from an assignment I’m currently at work on.
