Poppy thoughts

Wearing my poppy today, I recall all that has been sacrificed for us – to live our lives … and to write our blogs.  That is not to be facetious, but to put intangible emotions into a context to make me think harder about existence, humanity and self /selflessness.

Everything seems so trivial compared to that sacrifice.

Yet we have to live on, to make their sacrifice worthwhile in all manner of trivial and serious ways.

Grim Blogger’s recent post about the  First World War and its heritage for Weird Literature is thought-provoking in many of these ways: http://grimreviews.blogspot.com/2010/11/weird-fiction-and-great-war-fire-bath.html
